Steam Next Fest Reception
The Loftia team expressed appreciation for player support during Steam Next Fest, noting that Loftia became one of the top demos in the event. The developers stated that the demo represents only a small part of the content, narrative, and gameplay systems that Loftia will have at Early Access. The team explained that they have been working to address player feedback and reported issues, with ongoing fixes planned throughout Next Fest and beyond.
Bug Fixes and Stability
The update fixed an issue where checking House Showcase results sent players back to the login screen. Item fragments staying uncombined after collecting enough pieces have now been resolved. The patch fixed being unable to rebind controller buttons while using a controller. The team resolved an issue where “A Note from the Team” appeared when opening the Daily Summary. Long character-name error messages on the login screen now wrap properly.
A bug that caused duplicate Pebble and Cliff characters appearing during the crack-reveal cutscene was resolved. The update fixed the player’s hair appearing stiff in cutscenes when hair movement is enabled. Depth of field during gameplay will no longer be disabled by title-screen settings. Maximum CPU usage during shader preparation was reduced to help keep computers happy while loading. Audio was rebalanced, including quieter vending machines, rivers, fire pits, and Pebble’s wave sound.
Gameplay and Balance Changes
The developers clarified where to find Scrambled Coordinates for Ryder’s quest and increased their drop chance during that quest step. Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates from the Daily Goodies Chest now unlock after completing Ryder’s intro Adventure quest. Solar panels now generate more energy in rain and at night, particularly when both are happening.
UI and Tutorial Improvements
The Tool Wheel tutorial prompt was improved to appear during the planting step, stay visible for up to four minutes, and dismiss only when opening the wheel. The team noted this should help anyone who was having trouble finding their carrot seeds. Hover and click sounds were added to more character customization buttons.
Community and Server Updates
The team encouraged players to join the official Discord server to stay updated on future scheduled server downtime and hotfixes. Community events are also running on the Discord server in the events channel.
