The Core Decision Rule

Keep any item that is consumed by crafting recipes, research bundles, contribution bins, community projects, or quest hand-ins. Sell items that have zero consumption uses and a positive sell price in Dew.

Of the 1,292 items in the game files, 181 are needed somewhere, 53 are needed and also sell for a high price, 41 have no use and can be sold, and 1,017 have no use and cannot be sold (414 clothing, 256 decorations and 171 outfit fragments among them).

Always Keep: Most Consumed Materials (Top 30)

These items are inputs to the most recipes, bundles, bin requests and projects. “Total quantity” is what you need to do every one of those uses once.

Bloom leads all items with 217 total uses and a cumulative requirement of 6,820 units across building permits and adventure upgrades. Screws follow with 93 distinct recipe uses requiring 833 units, making salvaging scrap metal a constant priority.

Memory Tiles serve 79 recipe and construction requirements totaling 435 units throughout the game. Plastic Discards and Scrap Wood account for 45 and 40 uses respectively, reinforcing the necessity of hoarding salvage outputs in home storage.

Safe to Sell: Unused Commodities (Top 40)

Items with zero consumption uses across all crafting stations, research bundles, contribution bins, and quests are safe to sell for Dew. Liquidating these surplus goods clears valuable backpack slots without hindering workshop progression or town projects.

Blue Cap Mushroom stands out as the single most lucrative safe-to-sell item in Loftia, yielding 100 Dew per unit to merchants. Because no recipes consume this rare fungus, harvested stocks can be turned directly into early currency.

Surplus decorative furnishings such as the Bioluminescent Bed and Cloud Pillow sell for 5 Dew each. Basic commodities like Flour sell for 3 Dew, while common artifacts like Betabara provide a nominal return of 1 Dew.

Sell the Surplus: High-Value Items with Limited Uses

A select group of 53 items possess both recorded consumption requirements and high vendor sell values of 50 Dew or greater. For these commodities, players should retain the minimum threshold needed for upcoming recipes and sell any excess inventory.

Item Category Sell Price Uses Needed (each use once)
Radish Kimchi Food 185 Dew 1 1
Oyster Mushroom Gyoza Food 180 Dew 2 5
Baba Ganoush Food 170 Dew 1 1

Chili Soup Food 130 Dew 2 5

Culinary creations like Radish Kimchi and Oyster Mushroom Gyoza command peak prices exceeding 180 Dew each. Once required quest or bundle donations are fulfilled, cooking stations function as dedicated profit engines.

High-tier dishes such as Chakalaka and Tomato Basil Soup require modest reserves of 7 units each across all stations. Farming and culinary specialists can safely monetize any production beyond these reserve targets.

Cannot Sell: What to Do with Unsellables

The Loftia catalog contains 1,017 items that cannot be sold to merchants and possess no purchase value in Dew. These items fall into distinct categories including cosmetic attire, architectural fixtures, and salvageable artifacts.

Clothing items such as the Autumn Skirt and Academic Top cannot be sold and remain permanently in personal wardrobes. Key items like the Chest Key and Golden Chest Key are reserved exclusively for opening locked containers throughout districts.

Unsellable artifacts including the Spotless Action Figure and Battered Action Figure can be processed inside the Recycler workstation. This recycling process converts dormant relics into Memory Tiles for use in construction and workshop projects.

Checking Any Item with the Verdict Box

Every item detail page on Loftians now features an automated verdict box derived directly from client data files. This panel provides an immediate recommendation alongside specific consumption counts, price benchmarks, and direct links to relevant recipes.

Four distinct verdict badges categorize every item in the game: Keep, Sell, Keep (not sellable), and Keep or Sell. Items displaying the Keep badge list their top required applications and specify exact cumulative quantities needed across all stations.

Blue Cap Mushroom serves as the standard demonstration of this decision system. Although the side quest Never Too Mush requires harvesting 5 Blue Cap Mushrooms, the quest objective only tracks collection rather than handing in the items. Because no blueprints or research stations consume the mushroom and it sells for 100 Dew, the verdict box designates it as Sell.
